With a fetal doppler, you may listen to your baby's heartbeat - Pregnancy is full of joy and anxieties as you anticipate the arrival of your infant. Some expectant parents use fetal dopplers for peace of mind or to begin communicating with their baby.

What is a fetal doppler, and how does it work?
A Fetal doppler is a portable ultrasound equipment that is used to listen to a baby's heartbeat starting around week 13 of pregnancy. They function in the same way as an ultrasound in the doctor's office, but in a pocket-sized gadget. Medical personnel can utilise them, although some are meant for at-home usage.

A gel is placed to the belly, much as when you go to the doctor, to help get a better reading of Baby's heartbeat. In between checkups, fetal dopplers may be a useful tool for keeping track of and bonding with your growing child.

While fetal dopplers are safe, finding the sound of the baby's heartbeat can be difficult for inexperienced persons. As a result, a fetal doppler should never be used in place of routine doctor or ultrasound visits. Consult your doctor or health care provider before beginning to use a fetal doppler to determine what is best for you and your baby.
